Following our April 10th announcement about SiGREEN's exciting acquisition by Makersite, we understand you might have questions. Here's a quick FAQ to address help you through the transition.
Contract & Legal Questions:
Why do I need to sign a new contract?
With the upcoming transfer of SiGREEN to Makersite, the ownership of the platform will transition from Siemens AG to Makersite GmbH. To ensure your continued, seamless access to the SiGREEN platform, you will need to accept the new Makersite Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) upon your very first login after after the platform has official been transferred to Makersite. The transfer is currently planned for June 1st, 2026 and you should be able to login at http://app.mattermaps.com/ after June 4th. SiGREEN will be rebranded into “Mattermaps, formerly SiGREEN“.

When can I sign the new Makersite contract?
You will be able to agree to the new Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) right on your first login after the platform has been transferred to Makersite, which is planned for June 1st, 2026.
What if I don't want to sign with the new company?
We completely understand that you might have questions or concerns about this transition. We encourage you to reach out directly to Makersite GmbH with any queries you may have regarding their Terms & Conditions (T&Cs). Should you decide not to transfer your account & data to Makersite, please be aware that you will have until May 15th, 2026 to download any data you wish to keep. After this date, your access to the platform will be removed.
What happens to my service if I don't agree to the data transfer?
If you choose not to agree to the data transfer by May 15th, 2026, your access to the platform will be removed and all your account’s data will be deleted. In case you would like to use the SiGREEN platform after it has been transferred to Makersite, you will need to create a new account directly with Makersite.
Pricing & Billing:
Who do I pay after June 1st , Siemens or Makersite?
After the transfer to Makersite date, Makersite GmbH will assume all contractual and billing responsibilities. Any invoices issued after the transfer to Makersite (expected for June 1st, 2026) will come from Makersite GmbH.
Data Migration:
Do I need to migrate my data myself or is it automatic?
No, the migration process will happen automatically. The only action required from your company's side is to, if you wish, accept the data transfer that we will hand over to Makersite (this includes important information like your user list, Bill of Materials (BOM), supplier list, etc.).
Has the data transfer already begun?
No. Companies have the ability to accept the data transfer until May 15th,2026. The transfer of the data to Makersite is expected for June 1st, 2026.
Who can consent to the data transfer?
Only your Company Administrators are able to consent to the data transfer. Your Company Administrators have will receive a pop-up when logging in to SiGREEN, which requests consent to the transfer of your company account and data to Makersite GmbH. If we do not receive consent for data transfer to Makersite by May 15, 2026, we are not able to transfer your data. This means your account and all associated data stored in SiGREEN will be permanently removed in accordance with applicable data retention policies. We strongly encourage you to complete the necessary steps as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted service.
Will I receive a confirmation email about my data transfer consent?
No, you will not receive a confirmation e-mail. However, once the data transfer consent has been provided, you will no longer receive the see the pop-up when logging in, and you will no longer receive any reminder e-mails.
How does this transfer align with data protection laws?
Your Company Administrator‘s approval of the data transfer constitutes a formal instruction from you, the data controller, to Siemens, and based on this instruction, Siemens is authorized to transfer the relevant personal data to Makersite.
What data exactly will be transferred to Makersite?
The transferred data includes your individual user accounts and roles, product families and products, Bill of Materials (BOM), supplier list, supplier connections, all product carbon footprint data of your product’s and all PCFs you have received from your suppliers, as well as any other account data currently stored in SiGREEN.
Will Makersite have access to my historical data from SiGREEN?
Yes, if you consent to the data transfer, your full account history, including historical BOM data and supplier information will be migrated to Makersite.
Will there be any downtime during migration?
Yes, downtime is planned from May 29th until June 4th.
What happens to my data if I choose not to continue?
If you decide not to agree to the data transfer by May 15th, your access to the platform will be removed, and your data will be permanently deleted.
Users & Access:
What happens to user roles and permissions after the transition?
User roles and permissions are expected to be carried over as part of the data migration. However, some company-specific settings may require review and adjustment after the closing date.
What if some of our users are no longer with the company. Will their accounts transfer too?
All user accounts associated with your company at the time of transfer will be migrated. It is recommended that you review and clean up your user list in SiGREEN before May 15th, 2026 to ensure only active users are transferred.
Can individual users consent to the transfer, or does it have to be the Company Administrator?
Only designated Company Administrators can consent to the data transfer. Individual users do not have the ability to approve or reject the migration.
Will my login credentials change?
We do not anticipate any changes to your existing usernames and passwords . However, please be aware that for company-specific settings, there might be some adjustments required e.g. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Single Sign-On (SSO).
Product & Service Continuity:
Will the product/features I use stay the same?
There will be no changes to the current status or features of SiGREEN until the transfer to Makersite, which is planned for June 1st, 2026. For any changes afterwards, please reach out to Makersite.
Will the product name change?
SiGREEN will be rebranded into “Mattermaps, formerly SiGREEN“.
Will I still have access to free training materials and videos? What if there are changes to the solution?
Training materials and videos will be handed over to Makersite as part of the SiGREEN platform transfer. For future specific (free) training offerings, please reach out to Makersite.
Will there be a parallel running period where both SiGREEN and Makersite are accessible?
There is no parallel running period. The transition is planned as a direct cutover on the closing date of and is currently planned for June 1st, 2026. Any planned downtime will be communicated in advance.
Will there be any new features or improvements coming after the transition?
Makersite has not yet announced specific product roadmap changes. You will be kept informed as more details become available.
Technical Questions (APIs & SSO):
Will there be any downtime during migration?

You will need to update your API set up for the integrations with other tools. The APIs will stay the same but there are some technical changes necessary. You will need to create new technical users in SiGREEN when you log in. Moreover, you will need to change the end-points to Makersite domains. API details will be shared soon by Makersite.
Will API endpoints change?
Yes, your API credentials will need to be updated as the API endpoints will change.
What will change after closing regarding APIs?
